Biochemical - Blood Testing

Are you part of the health-conscious folks? Let’s talk about the importance of blood tests, shall we?

Picture this: You’re like a finely tuned machine, and blood tests are like giving your engine a check-up. They help us peek inside your body to spot any sneaky diseases or issues with your organs.

Why? Because we’re all about keeping you in tip-top shape!

Now, we’re not just talking about any old check-ups. We’re talking about routine tests for things like vitamin D, blood sugar, and cholesterol. These tests give us the lowdown on how well your body is cruising along and if any tweaks are needed to keep things running smoothly.

Meet Ina – she’s our expert when it comes to functional medicine, which means she sees your body as a whole package. She doesn’t stop at the basics; she dives deep into tests like homocysteine and vitamin D. Why? Because these little guys play a big role in stuff like weight, inflammation, immunity, and even strokes!

But here’s the kicker: It’s not just a one-time deal. Retesting is key to keeping tabs on your progress. If your engine needs a tune-up or your dietary program needs a tweak, Ina’s got your back!

Ina works closely with doctors if the tests are out of sync.

So, if you’re all about staying ahead of the game and living your healthiest life, it’s time to schedule a consultation and she will decide whether you need a checkup. Trust us, your body will thank you later!

Which genes can be tested?

Health Test

This genetic test will give you insight into your health and wellness, cancer risk, and how you will respond to hormone replacement. General health and wellness insights include your risk to develop type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cholesterol, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, caffeine sensitivity, salt sensitivity, blood clotting, inflammation, and mood disorders. It determines your cancer risk for several cancers. The positive side is you can make small changes to your lifestyle and diet to support genes to prevent or delay your risk.

Sport Test

This test is great for athletes on a professional or amateur level. It will help you determine if your athletic abilities are more suited to strength or endurance sports. It will also help you understand your risk of injury and how your body will recover from injury or exercise. This test also includes dietary and training suggestions based on how your body responds to exercise and how much exercise and the intensity of the exercise, you need to do to lose weight.

Diet

Have you ever wondered what your obesity risk is, how your body responds to exercise or the type of diet you should be following based on your genetics? This test will help you to gain insights that will help you manage your weight, what diet to follow, what addictive traits you might have, how you respond to fat and carbohydrates, your exercise response, if you are gluten and lactose intolerant and your macro and micronutrient needs.

Aging

This test provides an indication of your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and chemicals in beauty products. This DNA test will give you a clearer idea of how to best care for your skin and guide you in terms of the skin care products and other preventative measures that you need to do or should avoid delaying aging- all the wrinkles and sagging skin and skin cancer. You will also get information on collagen synthesis for firmness and elasticity of your skin. This can make a huge difference to aging but even your risks for arthrits.

All the above tests can be done individually or as a combo of all 4 tests. The combo test is by far the most popular choice. This test is a combination of the above four tests giving all the insights gained from testing 120 genes. This is your most economical option.

Fertility

Lifestyle, nutrient deficiencies, and diet play a huge role in infertility. This test can be done on couples to determine which genes need support to increase fertility even if you go for ART. Infertility and preconception – DNA testing aimed at couples with unexplained infertility, before treatment with ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) such as IVF, for preconception to ensure optimal health or with a personal or family history of infertility and/or miscarriages. You can even do the test if you already get treatment for ART as it will increase your chances to conceive. This test is recommended for couples as both partners need to be optimally healthy to conceive.

Response to medicine

This test gives you insights into how your body will respond to medicine. It will help you identify if you are using the right drug, at the right dose without having side effects.

Picture this: You enjoy a delicious meal, but suddenly, your body isn’t feeling its best. That’s food intolerance in action – your body’s way of saying, ‘Hey, that dish doesn’t sit well with me!’ But fear not, because there’s a way to uncover the culprits and reclaim your comfort.

Enter the test that’s about to change the game! This magical test can pinpoint the specific foods that trigger those pesky reactions. Even better, it’ll guide you toward a menu of safe, tummy-friendly options.

Now, let’s talk about symptoms – from abdominal discomfort to skin irritations and everything in between, food intolerance can throw a whole party of unpleasant feelings. But with 220 foods tested, we’re equipped to tackle them head-on!

What’s in it for you? Well, aside from waving goodbye to those discomforts, eliminating trigger foods can lead to easier weight management and a boost in physical performance. Say hello to a happier gut and a happier you!

But wait, is food intolerance the same as an allergy? Not quite! While both can stir up trouble, they have their unique ways of doing so. Think of food intolerance as a slow burn, while allergies are more like a sudden storm.

With food intolerance, we’re talking about IgG antibodies and symptoms that can linger for hours or even days. It’s all about quality of life, folks!

What is the difference between an allergy and food sensitivity?

Food Allergies
Food allergies generally happen quickly and can be life-threatening. The symptoms are immediate and can happen within two hours after contact to the food. Common symptoms include hives, severe itching, swelling of the lips, face, throat, and even asthma attacks.

Food Sensitivity
Food sensitivities impact your quality of life over a period. A food sensitivity is a toxic reaction to food over time. The symptoms of food sensitivities are often delayed and subtle at first surfacing within a few hours after consumption. Reactions can last up to four days.

Unlocking the Power of Gut Health: Your Path to Vibrant Well-being

The gut is more than just a digestive organ—it’s a central hub for your overall health, influencing everything from your immune system to your mood. Often overlooked, gut health is critical for maintaining vibrant well-being. Imbalances in the gut microbiome can lead to various health issues, including digestive disorders, allergies, and even neurological conditions. Recognizing the importance of gut health is the first step toward better managing and preventing these conditions.

Recent increases in gastrointestinal disorders highlight the need for improved dietary and lifestyle habits. A healthy gut microbiome, composed of diverse microorganisms, is essential for immune function, nutrient absorption, and mental health. Poor diet, stress, and certain medications can disrupt this balance, leading to conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and leaky gut. Addressing these imbalances through dietary changes and natural remedies is crucial for long-term health.

Maintaining a balanced microbiome involves understanding the digestive process, which starts in the mouth and involves various organs like the pancreas and liver. Factors like the speed of eating, food quality, and digestive enzyme production all play roles in gut health. Moreover, lifestyle choices, including stress management and diet, significantly influence the gut’s health and function.

Empowering yourself to prioritize gut health is a powerful step toward a healthier life. By focusing on a balanced diet, managing stress, and incorporating natural remedies, you can optimize your gut health, leading to improved overall well-being. Remember, your gut holds the key to unlocking your body’s full potential—nurture it, and enjoy the benefits of vibrant health.
